Principal’s Perspective

Reflection

As we approach the final weeks of the 2011 school year, I have begun to reflect upon what I have learned about St Paul’s during my first year. Here are a few of my observations:

The students at St Paul’s are engaging, eager to learn and have very generous hearts. They want to help others and they are very fond of their school. From our youngest ELC students to our graduating Year 12’s, there is a real pride in “going to St Paul’s” and the ability to articulate what it is that makes this such a special place for them.

The staff at St Paul’s work incredibly hard to make this a terrific place for their students. They put in many hours outside the classroom. They willingly attend camps, run activity groups, coach sporting teams, organise excursions and special events and take time to get to know the students outside the classroom. In my meetings with incoming Prefects and House Captains, I asked about what made St Paul’s a great place for them. Without exception, the students described the positive relationships between students and staff and the broad range of opportunities and activities.
