St Paul’s VCE results 2018

The 2018 Dux of St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School is Janelle Rajasingham from Warragul who achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.15. Janelle completed Unit 3 & 4 English Language, Mathematics Methods, Chemistry, Japanese and Accounting in Year 12 and Biology in Year 11. Janelle also received a 50 for English Language. She is planning to study medicine. Very close behind Janelle were James Gallagher of Warragul on 99.05 and Cameron Wong of Yarragon South on 98.75.
Other high achievers included: Zheguang (Brett) Wu of Brandy Creek on 97.15, Charles McKay of Warragul on 96.2, Eva Williamson of Warragul on 96.1, Christian Carey of Neerim on 95.15, Gerard Wilkinson of Neerim South on 95.1, Isabel Thomas of Warragul on 95.1, Declan Morrison of Warragul on 94.5, Chetan Narayan of Warragul on 94.25, April Leach of Warragul on 93.7, Sophie Binns of Warragul on 93.4, Catherine Williams of Warragul on 92.1, Ron (Gordon) Ip of Warragul on 91.9, Jack Ellis of Traralgon on 91.1, Lauren Brewer of Warragul on 90.85, Connor Williamson of Warragul on 90.25 and Zali Stevens of Traralgon on 90.05.
Amongst those achieving above 90 are a number of inspiring success stories from students whose hard work and perseverance has enabled them to exceed their own expectations. There are several examples of students who, with support, have triumphed over health and personal hardships to achieve impressive results.
In all 9 students achieved an ATAR over 95 (9%) and 19 students achieved an ATAR over 90.
The percentage of students who achieved an ATAR of over 80 was an impressive 44%, placing them in the top 20% of the state. 87% of students achieved an ATAR over 50.
This year’s cohort plan to study a diverse range of courses from medicine and engineering to fashion design and fine arts.
The next few weeks will be an exciting time for students who now await offers of places at a range of university and TAFE institutions, seek employment or travel overseas.
