2021 VCE Season of Excellence
Date: February 19, 2021
Two students from St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School have been accepted into the 2021 VCE Season of Excellence which showcases the top work from VCE students who completed performing or visual arts, technology, design, or research studies in 2020 from across all of Victoria.
2020 graduate, Ondine Olsson, has had her Year 12 Product Design and Technology Textiles folio and production work selected for inclusion in the 2021 Top Designs Exhibition at the Melbourne Museum. Ondine’s folio had been selected from some 130 applications across the state.
Ondine’s “Contemporary Rodeo Wear” will be one of only 16 Product Design and Technology exhibits chosen from an outstanding shortlisted field of 47 VCE Top Designs. Despite the numerous setbacks of a challenging year for all VCE students, Ondine demonstrated perseverance and determination to design and create a garment for her end-user, Pace Dawson, that reflected the design aesthetic of her end-user, challenged design norms, provided protection, and comfort in a durable and sustainable product.
St Paul’s 2020 Year 12 student Henry Dann took the photos of Ondine’s work.
Current Year 12 student, Imogen Turecek, has been accepted into Top Class Dance 2021 for her outstanding work in VCE Dance Units 3/4 that she completed in 2020 as a Year 11 student.
Imogen is a part of the Elite Sports Performers (ESP) Program at St Paul’s where she is supported to balance her heavy training load for Circus Arts and Dance with her schooling. She will perform her VCE Composition Solo at the Top Class Dance concerts that will be held on Thursday 18 March at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
