Member of Ecumenical Schools Australia
St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School is a member of Ecumenical Schools Australia.
Ecumenical Schools Australia is a collegial network of independent, co-educational schools – diverse in size, location and faith background; united in the advancement of richness in education.
In 2019 there were 18 members educating over 17,700 students.
The members of Ecumenical Schools Australia are mostly located in outer metropolitan areas and regional centres, and each has its own distinctive characteristics and values. The schools are drawn together by their commitment to respect one another’s uniqueness, and their common goal to continuously improve the education provided to their students.
Ecumenical Schools Australia members embrace the differences in profile, strategic direction, pedagogy and faith across the network, while encouraging valuable collaboration between schools, resulting in a vibrant, open-minded, educational community. Faith practice is particularly diverse, with a range of Christian denominations represented and some schools have no formal religious affiliation, all sharing a fundamental Christian ethos.
Through its activities, Ecumenical Schools Australia seeks to actively improve equity and facilitate access to educational experiences, nurturing excellence in outcomes for students at its member schools. This is achieved partly through the provision of a range of professional learning programs that build the capacity of educators and leaders.
There are three main points of focus:
- Learning: supporting members in their provision of valuable educational opportunities and experiences for their students and communities;
- Financial: maximising and sustaining levels of government funding for member schools;
- Protection: mitigating risk and supporting member schools in meeting their compliance obligations.
Our Creed: ‘Excellence, equity and diversity in education for all’
