Here are some stories from our past students:

Class of 2002 – Tim Leeson

Class of 2002 Alumnus, Tim Leeson, started at St Paul’s in Year 7, coming from a primary school where he had only six other pupils in his year level. Knowing only one other student, he was appreciative of being placed into Gilmore House with him and forming a lifelong friendship.

Class of 1993 – Janet Borland

Class of 1993 Alumna, Janet Borland, commenced St Paul’s in Year 7 and loved learning and going to school, so much so that she remembers telling her parents that she wanted to be a student for the rest of her life. She believes her teachers fostered her love of learning and said, “St Paul’s instilled in me a passion for lifelong learning. I enjoyed being in a supportive environment with teachers who inspired me to learn”.

He was also a school Prefect.

Class of 1997 – Beau Miles

Class of 1997 Alumnus, Beau Miles, started at St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School in Year 10.  One of his greatest memories whilst at St Paul’s was sharing three of his five subjects in Year 12 with Ash Moore, which he said, “severely affected his university rank… and was worth every penny of it)”. He also remembers “quite honestly” having exceptional teachers who developed real and ongoing relationships with students across the years.

Class of 2012 – Thomas Slate

Class of 2012 Alumnus, Thomas Slate, started at St Paul’s in Prep when he was six years old.

Some of his fondest memories are connected with the Miller’s Factory Year 9 Centre and the small community feel that developed at the then separate campus.  He recalls the many facets of the Year 9 Program that included many city trips, camps and different styles of teaching and learning.

Class of 1990 – Josie Jones

The Class of 1990 lays very special claim to our only Australian of the Year recipient. Since 2006, Josie Jones has volunteered over 10,000 hours and countless dollars to improve the water quality in Mornington Peninsula’s bays – personally collecting over 5.6 tonnes of rubbish from its shorelines.

Class of 1987 – Jacqui Lyons

Jacqui Lyons started at St Paul’s in Year 7 in the foundation year of 1982, with only twenty-four students in the Sunday School rooms at the back of the church.

Today Jacqui is a music teacher at St Paul’s and she remembers the early days of St Paul’s…
